| Glen Ord 1964, 40 Year Old The colour of this whisky is similar to that of chardonnay aged in oak. 40 years of maturation in a European cask have imparted a distinct aroma of cashews oak, and caramel. The taste begins crisp and somewhat dry. Nutty flavours are followed by anisette and a faint touch of smoke. The finish is long, dry and immensely rewarding. Fabulous at 40! | Tomatin 1974, 30 Year Old Mid Gold in colour from 30 years of maturation in a refill bourbon cask. The first nose is sweet with floral and cereal notes. With water it opens and freshly cut hay, appears along with whiffs of honey. The taste is fabulous, beginning with a burst of smoke, cooling menthol and then oak, vanilla and honey. The finish is long, soft with a hint of smoke on the end. |
| Tomintoul 1974, 30 Year Old Amber gold in colour resulting from 30 years aging in a refill hogshead. The initial nose is fruity and sweet. The addition of water brings out ripe fruit, toffee, and vanilla Turkish taffy. The taste is lovely, mildly sweet and fruity yet possessing a big mouth feel. There is a hint of smoke followed by a touch of liquorice, leading to a long and smooth finish. |
