Deep mahogany in colour from 8 years of maturation in a former sherry barrel. One whiff confirms its sherried origins with rubber, chocolate, toffee and smoke at full strength. The addition of water brings out more toffee yet, the smoke intensifies somewhat. The taste neat is very warm and mouth filling with liquorice, sherry, smoke and leather. With water the initial sherry sweetness passes and it becomes pleasing dry and spicy. A long, dry finish, ends a beautiful experience.
